On a cold day, there’s arguably nothing better than coming home to a nice warm house, and with a central heating installation from Ecogem, we can make sure that happens.

Whether you know the type of central heating installation you’re looking for in your Leicester home or need the assistance of a team of experienced and knowledgeable experts, we’re on hand to help you.

Type Of Central Heating System

There are three main versions of central heating; wet systems, warm air systems and storage heaters. Each has its benefits and can be more suitable than the others, depending on your needs and the property type.

Wet Central Heating Systems:

A wet system is the most popular. This sees hot water circulating around your house via a central boiler and radiators. This type of system is not limited to radiators alone though, as they can also feed underfloor heating and other wet feed systems.

They can be fed by:

  • Gas
  • LPG
  • Oil
  • Biomass
  • Electricity

As a result, your ‘standard’ central heating installation can be custom fit for you and your requirements.

Warm Air Central Heating Systems:

Warm air systems are less common, but still widely used. Air is heated by a boiler (usually a gas fired boiler) and fed around the home via ducts and air vents.
Not usually as efficient as a wet central heating system, they tend to be chosen by preference as opposed to running costs.

Storage Heating Systems:

Remember these being heavily marketed in the late 80s and early 90s? They seemed to be all the rage back then but are forgotten about these days. Storage heating systems only use energy in off-peak mode. Storing up their heat and energy during lower tariff times, such as Economy 7 and Economy 10, they slowly release the heat stored over the next day (depending on your settings).

Due to the way in which these charge themselves up, dedicated controls are often used, so can increase the installation cost.
